Premium users can play music, pause, add, store, queue and much more 24 hours a day. We will discuss its functions and commands in detail in the next section. Before you start playing music, you should make sure that the bot is installed on the voice channel. The bot has many cool features for playing music and commands that will be useful to manage a large audience on your disc server.
Once you have confirmed yourself as a human, follow these steps to complete the quick process. Go to your Discord Server Dashboard and you will find that Groovy Bot has been added to your server. Click Next and then click Authorize.
Let’s start with the Play command. To do this, we need to create a card called a queue on which we can store the songs we type into the chat. We also need the ytdl library, which we installed earlier. For this we need one song for each guild, each guild represents an isolated group of users in a channel called a server.
Next we have to navigate to the OAuth2 page, select the Bot-Scope and tap OK. We copy our generated URL and paste it into our browser. After we have inserted the URL, we can add it to our server by selecting it and clicking on the Authorization button. We need to select the necessary permissions to play music and read messages.
Many other music bots are complicated with commands and settings, but Groovy keeps it simple. It has several premium options such as changing the bass, increasing the speed or pitch of the song. Premium users can also switch interesting sound filters such as Nightcore, Vaporwave, etc. Overall, Groovy is a solid fluff music bot that provides users with everything they need for free.
The Play command lets you play a song or link to a search query you’ve entered from Spotify or YouTube. Queue: Speaking of queues, use this command to display all available tracks in your queue. Shuffle: Use this command to randomly determine which tracks will be added to the queue.
When it comes to music bots on Discord, there are a lot of them. You will find many uptime problems, incorrect playback and limited platform support. All three of them will not suffer from any of these problems and are a great addition to your Discord server.
Hopefully this article has helped you understand the Discord API and how to use it to create a simple bot. If you want to see examples of more advanced Discord bots, you can visit my GitHub repository.
